Poornima Murthy is a growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship leader with over 17 years of experience building businesses, forging strategic partnerships, and strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems across India and globally.
At GAME, she leads the Women Economic Empowerment portfolio, working to unlock pathways for women to participate meaningfully in entrepreneurship and economic growth. Her work focuses on enabling women to access opportunities, resources, networks, and market linkages that can help them build sustainable livelihoods and enterprises at scale.
Prior to joining GAME, Poornima spent five years at Walmart Global Tech, where she led startup innovation and ecosystem engagement initiatives, building bridges between emerging technology startups and enterprise stakeholders. She has extensive experience working across startups, corporates, investors, accelerators, and ecosystem partners to create high-impact collaborations that drive innovation and growth.
A serial entrepreneur, Poornima founded Secret Angel, a women’s entrepreneurship platform that enabled over 2,800 women to start and grow micro-businesses. She was also selected for Startup Chile, one of the world’s leading startup accelerator programs, where she worked alongside entrepreneurs from across the globe and mentored women entrepreneurs across Latin America.
Having experienced entrepreneurship firsthand as a founder, ecosystem builder, and corporate innovation leader, Poornima is deeply committed to advancing entrepreneurship as a pathway to dignity, agency, and economic prosperity. She believes that when more women participate fully in the economy, communities thrive, businesses grow, and societies become more inclusive and resilient.
Beyond her professional work, Poornima is passionate about documenting and amplifying the journeys of women entrepreneurs across India, bringing visibility to stories of resilience, ambition, and enterprise from diverse communities. She is also an avid traveler and a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, drawing inspiration from culture, storytelling, and human connection.
