Participation

Participation in the Grand Challenge is open to college students and youth in Bangalore.

During the duration of the Challenge Period, each Entrant must be a college student attending a college or university located in Bangalore or a youth living in Bangalore, and must be between the ages of eighteen (18) and thirty (30) during the Challenge Period. Eligible individuals may enter the Challenge as an individual Entrant, or may form a Team comprised of not more than three (3) individuals (not including the chosen Entrepreneur to be featured in the Application).

 

Entrants are required to find, identify and represent a woman Entrepreneur in the F&B Sector who runs a company/organization/small business that manufactures and distributes food and/or beverage products, whether packaged food or fresh food to individual customers or other businesses including food services such as restaurants, cafes, bakeries and street food stalls.

Entrepreneur must:

  • be a woman;
  • run a business in the F&B Sector within the Territory;
  • employ no more than twenty (20) individuals;
  • not operate an alcohol-related business and are prohibited from participation if they serve any sort of alcohol as part of their business
  • have started her business on or before 31st May 2019; and
  • be between the ages of eighteen (18) and forty-five (45) years old.

For each Entrepreneur represented by an Entrant in this Challenge, verification as to the Entrepreneur’s eligibility will be required in the form of either: (1) proof from an online food aggregator that the Entrepreneur has a business and meets these eligibility requirements; or (2) the Entrepreneur’s registration of license for the business. In case, the business is a street vendor or unregistered one, a photograph of the Entrepreneur at her business along with at least one of the entrants must be sent as verification.

Awards

The top ten (10) highest scoring Entries will receive a “Grand Prize,” and the next ninety (90) highest scoring Entries will receive a “Runner-Up Prize,” both of which are described below.

Grand Prize (present in an interesting format):

Each Grand Prize consists of the following components that will either be awarded only to the Entrant, only to the Entrepreneur, or to both, as described below:

Each Entrant and Entrepreneur will be invited to an awards ceremony, which will take place between 1 and 15 January 2020 in Bangalore (Karnataka, India) and will be felicitated by successful women entrepreneurs & policy makers in Bangalore.

Each winning Entrant will receive a cash prize of Indian Rupees 10,000

Entrepreneurs will receive roundtrip tickets and accommodation to attend the GAME Convening in Delhi on 12 December, 2019

Each Entrepreneur will be eligible to participate in a Facebook-sponsored program including mentoring and digital marketing and in the Bangalore food entrepreneurs’ pilot and mentoring by GAME

Entrants will be invited to participate in an entrepreneurship workshop featuring successful entrepreneurs in Bangalore.

Runner-Up Prize:

Each Runner-Up Prize consists of the following components:

Each Entrepreneur will be eligible to participate in a Facebook-sponsored program including mentoring and digital marketing and in the Bangalore food entrepreneurs’ pilot and mentoring by GAME

Entrants will be invited to participate in an entrepreneurship workshop featuring successful entrepreneurs in Bangalore.

Application Process

Applications will be made available starting 14 October 2019 at 00:01:00 a.m. IST and may be found at the following URL [Insert URL.], and the last day to submit an Application will be 25 November 2019 at 23:59:00 p.m. IST. Entrants must complete the application in one sitting which is a single page Google form. They can go to the url mentioned above and will be redirected to a form. The entrants must have atleast one active facebook or instagram account that needs to be mentioned in the application form.

Evaluation Criteria:

The evaluation of the Grand Challenge will be done in two stages by a Panel of Jury. The Grand Challenge will use the following criteria to determine the top 10 Grand Prize winners & the other 90 Runner-up prize winners

  • Story of the Woman Mass Entrepreneur (70%)
  • Product or process offering (Micro-Innovation/s) (30%)
