Happy Little Thing & Pink Cursor Designs

“My journey started as an 18-year-old entrepreneur in 2020 when I started my self-financed stationery brand. I wasn't too bright in school. I always knew at heart that Arts was my calling, and didn't fit into the science and math category.I opted for Arts in 12th Grade even after a lot of people told me that I wouldn't make something out of my life if I didn't stick to the ‘important’ subjects. After a lot of hard work and endless encouragement from my teachers, family, and friends, I managed to score 97.50% in ISC and topped the district in the Arts category. With the scholarship money I was awarded by my school (Rs. 41,000) and a little savings of my own (Internships and small jobs), I decided to start my own stationery brand - an ode to my lifelong love for all things paper, and a vision to bring premium handcrafted stationery items to the Indian market while working closely with local craftsmen and vendors.Starting a business amidst a pandemic, as a female entrepreneur was quite challenging. Every shop I went to, every vendor I spoke to, gave me less importance and tried to take advantage of my inexperience in the male-dominated industry. But after a lot of 'NOs', research, calls, investment and determination, I was finally able to bring my vision to life. I take inspiration from the women in my life, my family, and my friends. When I interned for a stationery brand, I was not paid, overworked, and underappreciated. My first ever boss told me that I ‘wasn't creative’, and that ‘something was wrong’ with me. Now my company has delivered our premium products to our happy customers all over the country. My vision for the future is to keep my head down and become the hardest working person in the room and give back to the community and my country in every possible way I can.”
