The Flaming Bowl , Kb’s FoodWorks

"As a child, I wanted to be an entrepreneur at a certain age. While I was preparing for MBA, I started working in a finance company. After one and a half years, I took NMAT and got through NMIMS.Just as I was about to leave for my final interview, a tragedy hit my family due to which I decided to take up my brother Karan's dream ahead which was food and this is how I got in entrepreneurship. Never in my dreams had I envisioned myself as someone who would enter the F&B Industry.I joined my brother’s Cafe but the cafe got closed in a year. It was my sister's birthday when I was asked to send a bouquet. I thought why not send something that would look beautiful and would be of use and that is what motivated me for KBs(Karan bakliwal )FoodWorks in 2017.More and more people got to know about it and started ordering for Food Platters and catering. I had taken a hundred square feet place to run the kitchen initially and today, we have a 1100 square feet workstation with a menu that has about 300 items including North Indian, Italian, Mexican & Pan Asian cuisines.I was trying Pan Asian food at a restaurant & totally fell in love with it. That is when the idea of ‘The Flaming Bowl' came in 2019. During the lockdown, my wife who is from Darjeeling desperately wanted to have momo. She took the recipe from her mother and made it at home & that's when we came up with the concept of 'Let's Talk Momo,’ a brand that would serve authentic Darjeeling momos. The biggest challenge for me was entering into this Industry with zero knowledge of it. The second challenge was running a kitchen in a hundred square feet area without any capital investment. Pan Asian cuisine is rich in cultural history and finding its vegetarian counterpart was quite interesting & challenging. “You never know what life has in store for you but whatever comes your way, never give up & believe that things happen for a reason and eventually for a good one.”
