“The idea to do something out of the box hit me when I had a lot of time in hand after class 12th and I wanted to create something I could be proud of. I started investing my time in painting, something I was very fond of. Developing my skills in digital forms made my work more professional and I was certain about where I wanted to go with this. I started working as a freelance graphic designer and took up internships to get an insight into the market. Being a Psychology major, I had to gain the necessary knowledge by myself. YouTube and online courses are the best.I took up art projects on commission and In the first lockdown, I gave a shot to starting my own small business. I started with graphic t-shirts, which had my printed artworks, both digital and traditional. The drive of creating value kept me going and not getting discouraged easily. The response was amazing. As I am not an art student I felt a little caught up with college and the thought of 'what if I were an art student' was a constant initially, but I gradually learned how to maintain a balance. Being a self-taught artist is a task! The name of my brand is Araisarting through which I provide digital and traditional artwork commissions. My business also provides customizable accessories, something only our small businesses can do, with us you don’t have to settle. Everything around me after the shop is a design inspiration. I want to try everything there is in art. To sum up, the best part about my journey is that I have reached a point where my work is my identity and people love it. Every order just fills me with joy!
