“When I was in 10th grade, after my exams, I was getting back from school in the back of my mother’s car. We were stopped at a signal, and I saw a child who had written the word “school” on a skateboard, and the spelling was wrong. He was asking for money to go to school. It impacted me, and I couldn't stop thinking about it the whole car ride home. I also told my friends about it.I started tutoring some children in an NGO close to my house. When my friends got to know about it, they volunteered as well. By the time I reached the mid of my 10th grade, I wanted to do something about this on a larger scale.I started cold calling hundreds of NGOs each day to ask whether they knew any children I could tutor. I got my first lead, and I began tutoring there. We spread the word to friends and family, who also started coming in to train. From 5 tutors and three students, the number increased to 20 to another organisation. Currently, we’re at 700 students and 1000+ tutors! We even went international by contacting international NGOs. I tutored 100 young adults in English to help them with their job interviews. I started my journey at 15, and now till the age of 17, I realise that if you want to do something, you should always give it a shot. It would help if you tried everything in the world, excelled at it, and took every opportunity that comes your way. Because if you try, only then will you know if it's possible.”
