Treehouse Education

Initially, I didn’t plan anything to pursue entrepreneurship. But while searching for a kindergarten for my son in South Mumbai, what I came across was so unjustified. Education is a basic human right and nobody should be made to struggle or have to beg to access it.We wanted to make the initial experience for parents and children marvelous. In the decade 2003 to 2013, we opened more than 100 branches in Mumbai to ensure that education was affordable and easily available to as many people as possible. It has been a journey of learning and growing each year to make a difference to children, their parents, and society at large. But there were a lot of challenges. For instance, it was hard to convince parents in small cities to send their toddlers to a pre-school. They do not always realize that the age between 2 and 8 years is when the brain develops the most and just being at home with the parents does not offer enough stimulation to the child. If you miss the early learning milestones, you are the one falling behind. The primary achievement is that we were the largest self-operated bodies in our venture combinedly in Asia and Europe. For budding entrepreneurs, I would like to say that it is important to create a product/model that is superior to what is available while not losing sight of profitability.”
