Quick Bite

“I wanted to become an entrepreneur from childhood. The life of an entrepreneur is the best life. He doesn't work for anyone, but people work for him. If you have the determination and work hard, then you can become an entrepreneur with 100% guarantee.” Everyone enjoys fast food, but due to the lack of guarantee in hygiene and quality, one beats his mind to protect his health. Drishti, a resident of Gorakhpur, understood this and started her own startup in this area called ‘Quick Bite’. Drishti is a Medha alumnus, currently working as a temporary assistant professor at DAV PG College, Gorakhpur. She enjoys teaching and has been doing it in various forms for 7 to 8 years. Along with this, she manages her start-up. Her father runs a shop, so business is familiar to her. Drishti is also fond of making new dishes, especially fast food. Once, she tasted a burger she had prepared, she felt people would like it. Due to a lack of funds, she marketed it at her father’s shop and as the number of customers grew, she started delivering food in her name. She shares how initially, due to inventory issues, groceries or food would get spoiled when not sold, which would create losses. However, she did not give up and was patient. She made up for the lost funds by teaching children, bought necessary machines and accessories to prepare fast food, and linked her start-up with Swiggy and Zomato. All fast-food items at Quick Bite are home-made, prepared by Drishti herself. She takes special care of hygiene and quality. Despite the pandemic, this USP brought her many orders. This has been in 5 to 6 months. She has 500 to 600 customers and got a big order from Gorakhpur University. For a girl, there is a general perception that they should go for an office job. However, Drishti’s parents supported her fully. Her mother taught her how to get maximum returns on minimum investment, while she learned about marketing and customer acquisition from her father.
