Veeralakshmi
Veeralakshmi is 29 years old belonged to a BPL family. She dropped out after class 10th, and got married soon after. She always wanted to work, but her in-laws were not supportive of her dreams. As her husband was the only earning member, she wanted to get a decent job and earn money to support her family and also to become independent and chase her dreams
She enrolled in the STFC Driver Training Program to learn HMV driving and got placed. She was the sole woman in the entire batch of HMV candidates She was placed as a bus driver cum break inspector at Parveen Travels. After two years of successfully driving, Veeralakshmi, with her husband have now opened their own cab company which employs three drivers. Simultaneously, she is pursing a diploma in travel & tourism, after completing her 12th standard education “My monthly income increased from ₹ 8000 to ₹ 18000 after the training. This is only the first step, my dream is to become a successful entrepreneur and apply by education in my business ” : Veeralaskhmi.
